About

In the context of the nation with the highest incarcerated population in the world, prisoners who are more likely to experience violence based on their gender presentation, sexual preferences, and alternative lifestyles are particularly vulnerable to rape, beatings, and harassment at the hands of prison guards and oftentimes fellow inmates. Prison Rebels Against Gender Violence is a project that aims to support the efforts of prisoners who actively organize themselves and rebel against the widespread forms of gender violence in the prison system and against the prisons themselves.  PRAGV will act as a node of information to link the struggles of prison rebels across the country to facilitate communication between rebels as well as rebels against gender violence on the outside.
